Rides

Currently Seeking Volunteer Ride Leaders

We are currently seeking volunteer ride leaders for both road, mountain, gravel, BMX and greenway rides. If you are interested in volunteering as a ride leader (road, mountain, gravel, other), please get in touch with us at rides@wheelchix.com or fill out this form. You do not have the be the fastest or most skilled cyclist to be a ride leader! Many times our leaders lead from behind and not in the front. We just ask that you are organized, help promote the ride on our calendar and social media sites, show up on time, greet everyone with a smile, get the appropriate waivers signed, and make sure everyone has a safe and enjoyable time on the bike. You'll also need to communicate if the ride needs to be cancelled. For more information, view our ride leader guidelines.

Please view our club calendar page for the latest ride calendar. One question we often get is "do I have to be a Wheel Chix member to participate on club rides?" The answer is no, you do not, although we certainly hope you'll consider joining us as there are many benefits to club membership!

Other Rides & Club Events

Thursday Club Socials

On the last Thursday of the month we have club socials (sometimes preceded by a casual urban assault or greenway ride) at our Presenting Sponsor, Crank Arm Brewing.

Charity Rides

You will also find us participating at local events such as The Victory Ride, le Tour de Femme and supporting our dear friend Lori at Tour de Cove. Please join our teams at the Victory Ride and le Tour de Femme!

Skills Clinics

We aim to host 1-2 skills clinics yearly. We have had a lot of demand for mountain bike skills and have held private members-only clinics in the fall with Lindsey Richter of Ladies AllRide. We are lucky to call Lindsey a friend of the Wheel Chix! Check our club calendar for the latest information on upcoming skills clinics. Have an idea or request for a specific clinic? (race clinic, cyclocross skills, bike maintenance, etc.)...email us at info@wheelchix.com

Other Club Socials

Sometimes we leave the helmet hair at home and meet "off the bike." We periodically schedule social functions at local wineries, restaurants, at our members' homes, and we host a holiday party every year. Check our calendar for the latest information.

Winter Cross Training

We currently have a group of ladies that train on Monday evenings at Athletic Lab, one of our generous partners. We have groups that train at both the Cary and Holly Springs locations. Training generally starts up in September/October and runs through May. Contact us at info@wheelchix.com for more information about joining us for cross training and weight training at Athletic Lab.
